WA Exploration, Art, Dogs, House

 It's been a few weeks!  Seattle life has been unexpected in a bunch of ways, and mostly they are good ones.  First, I am loving having an electric car and exploring the city and the PNW.  I did have to get the expensive (even with a cash boost from Chevy) upgrade to my car charger in order to get my car re-charged after driving around.  The household outlet solution was charging at a rate of 4 miles/hour, so the first time I was out for a not-that-long drive to go to fruit orchards, I got back to a message that it would take 48 hours to recharge my car battery.  The new amp-ed up "level 2" charger is 5x faster -- phew!   Nisqually Wildlife Refuge I've been slowly widening the circles around where I live, so I've been north to Skagit (pronounced with a soft g), east to Redmond and south to Nisqually.  I am learning that people who know how to pronounce the names of places are happy to correct me and I need the correction often.  I went to an ...

New people and new stuff

 This past week I found I'm still accumulating new stuff (ugh, but I need it!) and meeting new people (yay!). I took a trip downtown on the bus to go to Watson Kennedy, a store filled with beautiful tableware, home decor, cookbooks and gourmet food.  I was very happy to find these Westie bookends, which made the perfect gift from book loving friends to hold up books in my stairwell.  I didn't bring many books with me, just a few art books and photo books, but Westies are a rather small dog and even iron ones need to team up to hold books in place.  I love this little corner os much. And my couch arrived!  It needs a good lumbar support pillow, but it's looking great in my living room.  All I need in there now is for the television that was reported by Amazon as "delivered directly to the resident" last week to actually make it here.  When I called Amazon to say that I was the resident and no one handed me a tv, they said it must have been mismarked as ...
